MedicalMounts have built a wealth of experience providing solutions across the healthcare spectrum with PACS installations and solutions fast becoming a specialty. PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication Systems) is the digital replacement for the hard copy film processing and storage systems that have been in use for the past 100 years. By using a near film-less process PACS allows images to be stored, viewed and transferred for a fraction of the cost of the old film system.

Benefits of Picture Archiving & Communication Systems:

  • Vast improvements to waiting times for images to be processes
  • Contributing to the government targets of the NHS maximum 18 week patient journey
  • Improved diagnosis and ultimately better care by freeing up the clinician’s time
  • Huge long term cost saving by removing the need for film storage

PACS at Royal National Orthopaedic HospitalThe ErgoMounts Elite Monitor & Keyboard Arms has recently been used in London’s Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital for use within the theaters department specifically for PAC use.

In recent years despite the wide adoption of PACS technologies a newer medical imaging technology called Vendor Neutral Archive (VNA). In some cases this has completely replaced Patient Archive & Communication Systems or in other cases incorporated in with existing systems. VNA’s provide a solo platform that works with different PACS instances or RIS software as well as imaging hardware from other third party manufacturers. Larger healthcare facilities with outdated PACS technologies are occasionally choosing to install a trust-wide VNA rather than upgrading current systems.

We don’t tie our end users into any equipment contracts and are happy to have as much or as little involvement from start to finish whether it is simple procurement of units or a full site survey and installation service.

Our fully trained installation team follow the highest standards of workmanship, infection control and safety management. We strive to be sympathetic to operational issues and patient welfare by working closely with healthcare professionals to ensure disruption is kept to an absolute minimum.

We have installation experience in both new build and refurbishment projects ranging from single room set ups to complete hospital upgrades.

MedicalMounts are committed to being at the forefront of the ongoing PACS roll out and its future developments.
